F-M soccer team, Dakota Fusion, holding tryouts soon

Fargo, ND (WDAY TV) - Tryouts are less than two weeks away to be a part if a new semi-pro soccer team in the F-M region.

Dakota Fusion Futbol Club was officially launched Wednesday.

Organizers say it's a way for men, ages 19 and older, to continue to play soccer.

For now, just coaches and staff will be paid.

Organizers say anyone is welcome to tryouts on Sunday, March 6th.

The team will be announced on March 13th, and practices will begin April 2nd.

"We are playing just the friendlies this year, just friendly games, we are hoping for 6 to 9 games this year," said Sajid Ghauri, Dakota Fusion CEO. "Then next year we will be part of a league."

Dakota Fusion hasn't decided what league it will play for.

Organizers say they're in discussions with the American Premier League and the National Premier Soccer League.
