METRO -- An exhilarating way to get from place to place is growing in popularity as more and more people are learning about it.

Thursday, more than 20 electric and hybrid cars lined up in the Cass County Electric Co-Op parking lot.

Owners of the vehicles shared their knowledge and expertise on the benefits of electric cars.

Some can drive up to 240 miles without needing to fill up, and can take as little as an hour to recharge.

While the F-M area doesn't have as many charging stations as bigger cities, people are starting to embrace the new technology..

"They're growing in popularity by leaps and bounds," says Dennis Kooren, Fargo resident and electric and hybrid car owner. "People like the idea of having a car that is very quiet."

More charging stations are expected to be up and running, within the next three years.

There may be some every 60 miles along Interstates 29 and 94.
