COMPOSER SURPRISED TO HEAR HER SONG PLAY DURING MISS AMERICA COMPETITION

A piano composer from Detroit Lakes was watching the Miss America pagent when she thought she heard something familiar.

Miss Idaho, Nina Forest, played 'Rhapsody Brillante' on Sunday as part of her talent segment. The song was composed by Melody Bober, a composer and music teacher in Detroit Lakes. Bober has written over 900 songs throughout her career, but says she loves writing rhapsodies, because they typically feature a range of moods, colors, and tones thoughout the music. Bober says many of her songs have been played at state-wide competitions, but never on such a national stage with millions of ears listening.
