YMCA, West Fargo School District to offer new public preschool

WEST FARGO – The YMCA of Cass and Clay Counties is partnering with West Fargo Public Schools to provide the first classes of public preschool in the district.

The YMCA’s new Early Childhood Development Program, located at 330 3rd Ave. E. in West Fargo, will provide programming to up to 80 preschool children starting in August for students who qualify for free or reduced-cost lunch programs.

A structured preschool curriculum will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon, and care will be provided before (6:30 to 9 a.m.) and after (noon to 6 p.m.). The curriculum will be play-based to build math and literacy skills.

Priority is given to families that meet income guidelines described on the form. To be eligible, children must be residents of the West Fargo School District and turn 4 years old before Aug. 1.
