The image taken by NASA's Galileo spacecraft shows an active volcanic eruption on Jupiter's moon Io.

The false color image was taken on February 22nd, 2000.

NASA says that the two small bright spots are sites where molten rock is exposed to the surface.

The large orange and yellow ribbon is a cooling lava flow, and is over 37 miles long, according to NASA.
