NASA developing plans to put robotic bees on Mars
HUNSTVILLE, ALABAMA -- Nasa scientists are developing plans to put a "swarm of flapping wing flyers" on Mars to explore.
The plan says a mobile rover will roam across the red planet and serve as a base for the swarm of "Marsbees".
The bees are robotic flapping wing flyers, the size of a bumblebee with cicada sized wings.
They'll have integrated sensors and wireless communication devices that NASA hopes will enhance the MARS exploration mission.
The University of Alabama team will work with a Japanese team on developing the bees.
