Solid pitching lifts RedHawks over Gary

FARGO—The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks topped Gary SouthShore 3-1 Saturday in American Association baseball at Newman Outdoor Field.

Benji Waite (1-1) picked up the win for F-M (10-11). He gave up one unearned run on five hits and two walks with three strikeouts.

Keury De La Cruz, Devan Ahart and Leobaldo Pina each drove in a run to lead the RedHawks at the plate.

Randy McCurry struck out three in the ninth inning to pick up his fourth save of the year.

The series finale is 1 p.m. Sunday at Newman Outdoor Field.
