SIOUX CITY, Iowa—The Fargo-Moorhead RedHawks handed Sioux City, the team with the best record in American Association Baseball, a 5-3 loss Tuesday night.

The RedHawks improved to 15-14 while Sioux City fell to 23-8.

In the RedHawks two-run first inning, Brennan Metzger scored on a Keury De La Cruz ground out and Leobaldo Pina singled in Maikol Gonzalez.

The RedHawks scored two more runs in the sixth inning when Gonzalez, who doubled, scored on a Pina groundout. Tim Colwell singled home Devan Ahart. In a one-run eighth inning, Pina singled home Ahart.

Metzger went 2-for-5, Gonzalez 2-for-4 and Pina 2-for-4 with three RBI. Trey McNutt, who allowed only four hits in 7⅔ innings, picked up the win. Randy McCurry pitched the final 1⅓ innings allowing only one hit and no runs.
