Dakota Drillers impress in Chicago at Nike Tournament of Champions

CHICAGO - A group of North Dakota girls basketball players turned some heads this week in the Windy City.

The Dakota Drillers AAU team, made up of some great high school players, posted a 5-1 record at the Nike Tournament of Champions in Chicago. 

The roster includes Sheyenne's Maggie Manson, who's committed to UND, along with Bismarck Century's Lauren Ware and Lilly Keplin. Keplin too is heading to UND.

Also on the roster is Mandan's Megan Zander, Kennedy Harris and Lakyn Darras, West Fargo's Mariah Schatz and Logan Nissley.

Ware is considered the top girls basketball prospect in the state, who's courting offers from Power Five schools. 

Dom Izzo

Domenic is the Sports Director at WDAY. He comes to Fargo from WNCE-TV in Glens Falls, NY where he launched the sports department at the independent station. Before that, Domenic worked at WSTM, the NBC affiliate in Syracuse, NY as a photographer and live truck operator for over two years. He graduated from Oswego State University in 2002 with a degree in Broadcasting. Domenic hails from the lake effect snow capital of the world, Oswego, NY, he joined the WDAY Sports Department in September 2006.
