FARGO - It's been a long year for NDSU senior defensive end Greg Menard.

The Lakeville North product was set for a monster senior season last August when he tore the ACL in his right knee less than a week into fall camp. He would have to sit the entire 2017 season.

If there was any silver lining for Menard it was the fact he played as a true freshman, meaning he could use his redshirt season to rehab and return in 2018.

Menard did just that, he was at about 80 percent during spring ball in March, but says now he's "good to go".

Observers of FCS must think that as well, Menard has been named to the Missouri Valley Conference all-defensive first team, to go along with his name being on the Buck Buchanan watch list, which goes to the top defensive player in the country.

Menard has 27 career sacks, just fourteen away from tying the school record.
