GRAND FORKS - The UND football team begins a two year odyssey this September when the squad will not have a conference home and will not have a chance to win an automatic berth to the FCS Playoffs.

Such is the case when switching leagues, as UND prepares to enter the Missouri Valley Football Conference in 2020.

As the Fighting Hawks look to the future, erasing the past is a major goal.

UND struggled in every area last season, going from a playoff team in 2016 to a three win squad in 2017.

The decisions get harder for fifth year head coach Bubba Schweigert, who has to find a starting quarterback out of a three horse race.

The Fighting Hawks open the 2018 season August 30th against Mississippi Valley State.
