FARGO -  NDSU needed a big second half Saturday to avoid an upset loss at Northern Iowa, but the Bison were one of the few ranked in the top 15 in FCS that didn't lose this weekend.

Number two ranked James Madison fell at home to Elon, marking the Dukes first home loss since 2015.

JMU was joined by top ranked Weber State and Montana both losing.

South Dakota State nearly joined that group, squeaking out an overtime win over Indiana State, a team that was winless last year.

NDSU head coach Chris Klieman was asked the craziness of college football Saturdays as his Bison head back on the road this week to play Western Illinois.
