FARGO, ND - The Oak Grove turnaround continues under Melvin Whitney, after leading the Grovers to their first playoffs in nine year last season, the team is hungry for more. Oak Grove returns 18 starters, including all but one of their offensive lineman. The Grovers won't be satisfied with anything less than a long postseason run in 2018.
DICKINSON, ND - The West Fargo Patriot's run continued on Saturday with a 5-3 win over Burke Black (Omaha) in the Central Plains Regional Tournament. Addison Krank led West Fargo on the mound, going six innings while allowing only one hit and three runs. West Fargo will play Dubuque Sunday for the championship.
FARGO, ND - The community was out in full-force on Saturday, to root on the little league team out of Fargo as they were trying to punch their ticket to the Little League World Series. Friends, family and fans went to Buffalo Wild Wings for a watch party supporting team North Dakota as they faced Iowa in the Midwest Regional. While Fargo couldn't secure the win, they captured the hearts of their community.
EDMONTON, AL - Roseau's Aaron Huglen wowed fans Friday night with a goal that instantly went viral. The wrap-around goal came for Team USA in the Hilnka Gretzky Cup in Edmonton. Huglen has committed to play at Minnesota, he'll be heading to the Fargo Force this upcoming season.
WEST FARGO, ND - The West Fargo Packer football team is coming off its first state championship since 2003, ending a 14 year drought. FARGO, ND - The 2018 season is full of expectations for Shanley Deacons. After falling in the Dakota Bowl for the fourth time in the last six years, Shanley attacked this off season with a purpose and new attitude. But before they can get after Jamestown on August 24th, they'll need to figure out who will be the signal caller. After Kaden Kuenman's broken collar bone early against Watford City last year, Cade Busek stepped up and has given Shanley another valuable option under center.
FARGO, ND - 11-man football is back in North Dakota and Fargo South has something extra to be excited about, a new turf field. It was announced on July 19th, thanks to an anonymous donation, that South high would be getting a new artificial turf field by mid-September. This took an already excited Bruin football teams energy to the next level building up to the 2018 season.
INDIANAPOLIS, IN - The 12 year old little league team out of Fargo is on a journey of a lifetime this summer as they inch closer to the Little League World Series. They took a big step Sunday afternoon by beating Nebraska 15-1, in their first game in the Midwest regional. Team North Dakota will play team Iowa on Monday at 7:00 on ESPN+.
FARGO, ND - One of baseball's most notorious names has made his way to Fargo this weekend in former MLB slugger Rafael Palmeiro. Palmeiro is currently a member of the Cleburne Railroader of the American Association and is trying to finish his baseball career on his terms this time around. While Palmerio is well known for his 3,000 hits and 569 home runs in a lengthy career in the majors, but his run-ins with steroids are what makes the most buzz. Now he has found his peace with the sport, knowing there's nothing he can do to change the past.
FARGO, ND - Davies quarterback Jesse Forknell announced he will be continuing his football pursuits at MSU-Mankato next year. Forknell is coming off a big junior year where he threw for over 1,600 yards and 18 touchdowns. Forknell hit it off with the Mankato staff at the NDSU football camp this summer and knew that was where he belongs.
